In order for CBD to be effective, it’s important to make sure that you find your CBD dose. However, as an adaptogen, it means that the rules vary depending on several factors, including how you consume it, and the effect that you’re hoping to achieve.
A lot of the lack of information to do with CBD dosing has to do directly with the stigma around hemp based products. Legal restrictions which still exist mean that the scientific research is still in the very early stages, and while many places in America - and particularly in California - are jumping ahead with research into CBD, we are still trying to get all of the information on how CBD interacts with our endocannabinoid system.
How to find your dose
Titration - more commonly known as microdosing - is the affect of taking little steps over time, to allow for your body to adjust to what it’s experiencing. This is the most effective way of finding the best amount of CBD you need to be taking. As a general guide,you’ll find that your daily dose should be around 15-20 mg of CBD, taken over three times in a day, in order to maintain balance.
However, depending on your size, weight, and the impact you’re hoping to see from taking CBD, you may find that you need to increase your dosage.

In order to get the optimum effects of taking CBD, we recommend that you micro-dose in the following way.
- Start with 15 mg a day, taking three 5mg doses.
- If you notice the desired effect, congratulations, you’ve found the right dosage.
- If you haven’t noticed the desired effect, double the dosage.
- Got the desired effect? Continue this dosage until symptoms are relieved.
- Not the desired effect? Again, double the dosage.
The good news is that due to the nature of CBD, it is non-addictive, and has never caused fatal overdose. Micro-dosing allows you to experiment with your dosage, without pushing yourself too far in one direction.
