Dreams were made and happy tears were wept as England saw off Denmark last night at the Euro’s 2021 in Wembley Stadium to reach their first major finals since 1996.
As Harry Kane stepped up to take the penalty, a wave of silence descended upon the millions of England fans watching. Excitement turned to horror as Kane’s penalty was saved by Denmark’s Kasper Schmeichel. But hope was not lost, with the ball running free and Schmeichel unable to retrieve it in time, Kane buried the rebound. And within that moment, the 104th minute of the game, England was on their way to victory, and closer to finally coming home.
As the camera panned to the thousands of fans celebrating, England star, and most recently, CBD stakeholder David Beckham was snapped beaming as he cheered on the Three Lions Semi-finals victory.
Throughout the intense yet exhilarating 120 minute game, the England team had their fair share of tumbles and falls, and with the Euro 2021 finals only four days away, the whole team will most likely be taking the time to relax, recover and keep their head in the game.
David Beckham Invests In CBD
Previous England midfielder, David Beckham, knows all too well the importance of keeping his body fit and healthy as well as looking after his mental wellbeing. David Beckham’s also had his fair share of injuries back in the day, so it comes as no surprise David Beckham’s company DB Ventures has invested in the next big thing, CBD, in particular CBD-enriched cosmetics and CBD products for athletes.
CBD has been around for thousands of years, with the first documented use of cannabis-derived medicine dating back to 2373 BC when Chinese Emporer Sheng Nung used a cannabis-infused tea to aid with a variety of ailments including memory, malaria, rheumatism and gout.
In recent years CBD has been widely used to treat ailments such as sleep, stress and anxiety, as well as being used by the NHS in the UK to treat some forms of Epilepsy and Multiple Sclerosis.
We are beginning to see an influx of top athletes, such as David Beckham, and celebrities using and advocating for this plant-powered wonder drug.
So why have the likes of David Beckham and other high profile athletes begun championing CBD, and could it really help you succeed in your fitness goals?
CBD For Sport:
In 2017, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) removed CBD from their list of prohibited substances both in or out of competition, and the Tokyo 2021 Olympics will be the first Olympics ever to permit athletes using CBD. This has enabled notable sporting icons such as US footballer Megan Rapinhoe, UFC Fighter Nate Diaz, UK rugby legends George Kruis and Dominic Day and David Beckham to promote their use and support of CBD and its wide array of benefits.
What Can CBD Do For Your Workouts?
