CBD for Good Gut Health

You’ve probably heard how amazing CBD is to relieve anxiety, but did you know that CBD can also help with gut health and digestive issues? The link between gut health and systemic inflammation is one of the reasons why your gut is important for your general health.

Food particles and poisons can enter our bloodstream due to an unbalanced microbiome and a damaged cellular lining. This triggers an inflammatory reaction by alerting our immune system (the gut houses 70-80% of our immune system). It can lead to acne, dermatitis, and rosacea on the skin, as well as hormonal issues, mental fog, and low energy.

CBD has been demonstrated to have anti-inflammatory properties in both acute and systemic inflammation, resulting in therapeutic benefits for patients suffering from gas, bloating, and gut lining damage.

CBD is also beneficial to digestive health because it helps to prevent leaky gut by lowering cortisol levels. Cortisol is a hormone that causes catabolism. One of the most crucial aspects of a healthy digestive tract is cortisol management.

Another reason I like to use CBD to improve my gut health is that it has also been shown to regulate appetite, which can be beneficial if you suffer from bloating as a result of eating too much or too frequently (I recommend a minimum of 3-4 hours between), or if you struggle to eat enough as a result of stress related to food and gut health.

How to take CBD oil for better gut and digestive health

1. Start with the lowest dose and work your way up

Try taking one serving of CBD oil in the early evening on a daily basis - I recommend starting with 1/4 pipette of a 1000mg-1500mg bottle of CBD oil. If you would like more you can try twice a day (I take mine in the morning and evening).

2. Take CBD oil when you experience digestive issues and stress-related symptoms

If you have eaten something that is causing cramps and bloating, or are having stress-related symptoms then try 1 serving (1/4 pipette and up) of CBD oil to help ease your symptoms.
